San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2024 kicks off on Wednesday, July 24, bringing together a stellar lineup of talent across various entertainment sectors.
Following last year’s disruptions due to Hollywood strikes, this year’s event promises a full return with actors, actresses, directors, and writers eager to unveil new developments.
The event starts strong on Friday with celebrities like Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, and Keegan-Michael Key discussing their new animated film “Transformers One.” The excitement builds with the first major keynote in the legendary Hall H, spotlighting an imminent cinema release, “Deadpool and Wolverine.”
Key attractions include the “Alien: Romulus” project, with fans keen on updates from Ridley Scott’s franchise. Television and streaming will also feature prominently, with casts from “Rick and Morty: The Anime,” “Interview with the Vampire,” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” slated to appear. Director Roland Emmerich and the cast of “Those About to Die” will also participate.
Longtime SDCC contributors like Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will discuss “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.” Additionally, Ncuti Gatwa, Millie Gibson, and Russell T Davies are set to engage audiences with their insights on Doctor Who. The gaming segment will not disappoint either, with discussions on “Star Wars Outlaws” and “Marvel Rivals” and Ed Boon speaking about the future of Mortal Kombat.
Other notable guests include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, Todd McFarlane, and Bruce Campbell.
The excitement peaks on Saturday in Hall H, which showcases major releases from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including titles like the new Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Thor. Keanu Reeves will also be present to discuss his comic book series BRZRKR.
The cast of “The Boys” will significantly appear, featuring Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, and others, along with the series creator Garth Ennis and project director Eric Kripke.
Amazon Studios will bring a robust lineup, including “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and discussions on “Superman & Lois” and “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” Lake Bell will share insights into the upcoming season of Harley Quinn, and James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis, and director James Watkins will discuss the new “Speak No Evil” film.
Animation fans can look forward to “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” alongside panels with prominent figures like Ronald D. Moore and performers from AEW and WOW – Women of Wrestling. The casts of “The Legend of Vox Machina,” “Family Guy,” and “Futurama” will also be featured, ensuring a comprehensive and thrilling SDCC 2024.
