Senior Superintendent police (SSP) Malir, Rao Anwar has arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmaker Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan.
Taking notice of detention chief minister Sindh has suspended senior police officer SSP Rao Anwar.
According to CM House spokesman, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has issued directives to IG Sindh to suspend Rao Anwar on the grounds that he arrested the MQM leader without informing higher authorities.
SSP Rao Anwar claimed that police raided Izhar-ul-Hassan’s residence on tip off about presence of notorious target-killer Raees alias Mama. The accused is involved in 12 May bloodshed in Karachi.
Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan is among several MQM leaders nominated in many cases, including those about provocative speeches of MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
