Police took him into custody and registered a first information report against him for interfering with officials while they were performing their duties. Meanwhile, police sources said officers later released him on bail after completing legal formalities.
After a video of the incident circulated on social media, authorities launched a departmental inquiry into the officers’ conduct. This included the role of Sub-Inspector Shazan Shakeel.
The department appointed SP Clifton Khalid Javed as the inquiry officer. Additionally, they directed him to submit a report within three days.
Police sources said the private vehicle allegedly carried an official number plate and police lights assigned to Khubaib’s mother.
Two private guards also accompanied him in the vehicle. Police impounded the vehicle, while officials said the department was also considering action against the guards.
A police spokesperson said no one stood above the law. He also stressed that relatives of police officers could not use official privileges or equipment.
