The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) captured an individual involved in illegal gas extraction using underground clamps in Nawabshah, Sindh.
The company’s Anti-Gas Theft Team, operating under the Customer Relations Department, conducted a raid in Bhangwar Colony, Nawabshah, apprehending the individual engaged in this illicit activity.
SSGC officials revealed that the accused had been distributing gas, illicitly obtained and valued at millions of rupees, to local households.
Following the operation, the SSGC disconnected gas supplies to 10 residences linked via four unauthorized clamps and pledged to maintain vigilant surveillance in the region to deter future theft.
In a related development, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered a nationwide crackdown on electricity and gas theft last month. In a meeting held in Islamabad, he tasked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) with spearheading the initiative and formed specialized teams to combat these crimes.
