Spotify introduced a temporary Spotify disco ball logo for its 20th anniversary and launched a personalised listening-history feature called “Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s).”
The streaming company rolled out the anniversary experience on May 12 and said the mobile in-app feature shows users their first day on Spotify, their first streamed song, the unique songs they’ve heard, and their all-time most-streamed artist.
Spotify said users also receive an All-Time Top Songs Playlist with their 120 most-played tracks and play counts. Spotify changed its logo on May 13, 2026, with a shimmery Y2K-style disco ball design.
The platform traces its roots to Stockholm, Sweden, where Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon founded Spotify in April 2006. Spotify publicly launched the service in October 2008 and later entered the United States in July 2011.
Spotify reported 751 million monthly active users and 290 million premium subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to company earnings.
Listed Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Rihanna and Taylor Swift among Spotify’s top artists in early 2026.
