The Spain-Argentina final ended in a confrontation after Spain secured a 1-0 extra-time victory at New York New Jersey Stadium to win their second FIFA World Cup title.
Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute, ending Argentina’s bid to retain the trophy.
Tensions rose after the final whistle as Spain’s substitutes and coaching staff entered the pitch to celebrate. Argentina midfielder Leandro Paredes confronted Spain defender Eric García before becoming involved in another exchange with Gavi.

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni also entered the field, trying to calm the situation. The cause of the confrontation remained unclear, and officials had not issued a statement about possible disciplinary action at the time of reporting.
