SmartAsset says users answer questions, review suggested matches and can then arrange introductory calls with advisors at no cost to the user. The service is available across U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
The company promotes the platform as a way to find advisors who can help with retirement income, estate planning and broader financial planning.
SmartAsset also publishes calculators, guides and articles covering retirement, taxes, investing, banking, mortgages and estate planning. Its Smart Reads section listed several new articles dated September 16, 2026.

SmartAsset Advisors LLC, a subsidiary of Financial Insight Technology, registers with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser.
The company says it only refers users to participating third-party advisers and receives compensation from advisers for those referrals. SmartAsset also states that it does not manage client funds or provide advice on specific investments.
