Karachi, Sindh: Sindh vehicle transfer biometric verification has been simplified after the National Database and Registration Authority resolved the verification issue with the Sindh government.
Under the new system, buyers and sellers can verify their identity by visiting a NADRA office or an e-centre facility. They can also complete biometric verification from home through NADRA’s Pa-ID mobile application.
PakWheels reported earlier that NADRA and the Sindh Excise Department introduced mobile biometric verification for Sindh vehicle transfers. However, users are still required to complete transfer paperwork with the excise department.
After biometric verification, the buyer and seller must sign a written agreement on stamp paper. The buyer must then visit the Civic Centre Karachi Excise Office to obtain a token and submit the transfer application.

Applicants must submit the original registration book or smart card. They must also provide copies of both parties’ CNICs, photographs, a signed agreement, a clearance certificate, a valid vehicle tax certificate, a buyer’s proof of residence, and a vehicle inspection certificate.
Vehicle transfer fees and token taxes can be paid online or at the excise office. The transfer fee is Rs 605 for a motorcycle. Moreover, it is Rs 2,000 for a car with an engine size of 800cc to 1000cc.
The Sindh Excise online vehicle transfer portal states that the service is designed to verify details through an official digital process. It also completes ownership transfers. Furthermore, the department says users can complete the process through its online portal.
The vehicle will be transferred to the buyer’s name within 15 working days. This is after verification of documents and completion of the process.
