Karachi: Senior minister of Sindh Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Thursday said that provincial government has decided to establish a Sufi musical institute in memory of Amjad Sabri.

He announced this after visiting to slain Qawwal’s family in Liaqatabad along with other ministers Sharmila Farooqui and Dr. Qayyum Soomro.

“We will come to Sabri’s house again on Monday to finalise the framework of the proposed musical institute with the help of Amjad’s brother Sarwat Sabri,” he told the media.

Sharmila Farooqui said that the said institute would be inaugurated by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari himself as he is very keen to do something on permanent basis to keep continue the legacy of Sabri Brothers.

It may be mentioned that the Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party has formed 3-member ministerial committee comprising of Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Dr. Qayum Soomro and Sharmila Farooqui for establishment of Amjad Sabri Sufi Music Institute besides promoting Sufi teachings in educational institutions.

On Tuesday Bilawal Bhutto also drove to the residence of Amjad Sabri and offered condolence to the bereaved family including his mother, Brother, sisters, sons and daughters.
