The Sindh government declared the initiation of a comprehensive campaign to combat drug abuse across the entire province.
A strategic meeting was convened under Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh’s Senior Minister for Excise, Taxation, Narcotics Control, Transport, and Mass Transit, aimed to meticulously develop strategies to mitigate the drug menace pervading the region.
Memon underscored the necessity for immediate and forceful measures to tackle this burgeoning crisis. He disclosed plans for forming specialized task forces comprising skilled officers dedicated to leading the charge against drug proliferation.
Highlighting the imminent nature of this operation, Memon expressed the government’s determination to dismantle the drug trade, focusing on safeguarding the youth from substance abuse.
In recognition of exceptional efforts, Memon announced incentives, including awards and honours for officers who exhibit outstanding performance.
He further underscored the commitment to daily actions aimed at the complete eradication of drugs across Sindh, alongside efforts to heighten drug awareness among young people.
Secretary Excise Atif-ur-Rehman, DG Excise Aurangzeb Panhwar, DG Excise Admin Riaz Khoso, and others attended the meeting.
