The Sindh Apex  Committee meeting has decided to form a separate brigade to safeguard China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) passing through Sindh.

The committee also resolved to induct 2,000 former military servicemen under the supervision of Army in Sindh police.

The Apex Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah was held in Karachi to review implementation of National Action Plan. Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant-General Naveed Mukhtar, Director General Rangers Sindh Bilal Akbar, Inspector General Police AD Khwaja and CPEC and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The CM raised the point that even 2,000 military personnel would not be enough to safeguard the corridor.

AD Khawaja briefed the Apex Committee on the kidnapping of the SHC Chief Justice’s son Awais Shah and said that the police and other agencies were working day and night on this case.

He told the meeting that Amjad Sabri was killed by a pistol of 30 bore which the target killer do not normally use. He said his case is being investigated on three dimensions: the property dispute, sectarian and politically motivated killing.

The Chief Minister said that ample incentives would be given to investigators working on high profile cases.
