The Star’s Theatre Club will host a Shaw Festival Funny Girl event with theatre critic Joshua Chong on June 27 in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The event runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET at Festival Theatre. It includes a matinee performance of “Funny Girl.”
Before the show, Chong will send attendees notes on the musical. He will also share what he plans to watch for in the Shaw Festival production.
After the performance, guests will attend dinner at Zee’s Wine Bar & Grill. They will discuss the show with Chong and other theatre fans.

“Funny Girl” follows Fanny Brice’s rise with the Ziegfeld Follies. The musical also explores her relationship with gambler Nick Arnstein.
The Shaw Festival production is directed by Eda Holmes. It features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill and a book by Isobel Lennart.
