Shakira’s World Cup preparations entered their final hours as the Colombian singer previewed her FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony performance on Instagram.
Shakira shared a clip from “Dai Dai,” the song she is due to perform with Burna Boy at Mexico City Stadium on Thursday.
She wrote, “You’re about to reach the glory,” quoting a lyric from the song. The singer said the World Cup would begin at 11:40 a.m. CDMX time on June 11.
She also wrote in Spanish, “Esto ya arrancó mi gente!!!!!”
The performance marks Shakira’s fourth appearance at a FIFA World Cup ceremony. She previously performed at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
Her 2010 song “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” became one of the tournament’s best-known anthems.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada. The tournament will feature three opening ceremonies across the host regions.
Shakira is also scheduled to begin her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour” two days after the World Cup performance.
