Pakistan’s prominent fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is set to celebrate his wedding ceremony with Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha, later this month. This joyous occasion is scheduled to occur shortly after the culmination of the Asia Cup 2023, which ends on September 17th, with the wedding ceremony slated for September 19th, followed by the Valima reception on September 21st in Islamabad, as per sources. Despite the circulated dates, the families have yet to confirm them officially.
Earlier this year, the couple officially tied the knot in a ceremony held in Karachi. This celebration was attended by notable figures, including Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and the squash legend Jahangir Khan. This significant step was preceded by an engagement two years prior. Shaheen, who initiated the marriage proposal, noted that their families have known each other for a long time, fostering a natural connection between him and Ansha. He fondly recollected the mutual family visits that gradually nurtured their relationship.
During an interview, Shaheen revealed that there wasn’t a distinct first meeting with Ansha as they had known each other for a while, frequently visiting each other’s houses. This organic and longstanding familiarity culminated in their meeting at their own Nikah ceremony. Expressing his gratitude for a supportive partner, Shaheen highlighted that Ansha, though not too involved in his professional sphere, has always stood by him, embodying the understanding and appreciation that marks a fulfilling partnership.
