Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi Friday held consultation over appointment of new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
Khursheed Shah said that both the government and the opposition proposed the name of former chief justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jilani for the CEC slot.
However, he added that names of Justice (retd) Rana Bhagwandas and Justice (retd) Mian Ajmal are also under consideration.
On the occasion Qureshi said that the PTI has nominated name of former judge Nasir Aslam Zahid.
PTI senior leader Qureshi told media that all three proposed name were highly respectable, however, he added that his party wants inclusion of Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid in the list.
