MASHHAD, Iran: A Sepehran Airlines emergency landing followed severe mid-air shaking that damaged ceiling panels and overhead fittings on a Boeing 737 flight from Mashhad to Kermanshah on Tuesday.
Video from inside the cabin showed passengers gripping seats, screaming and praying as panels and debris fell during the disturbance, Jam Press said.
The pilot declared an emergency and returned to Mashhad Hashemi Nejad International Airport, where the aircraft landed safely. No injuries were reported among the 127 passengers and crew members, the outlet said.

The incident temporarily closed one of the airport’s two runways. Passengers were later placed on another flight to continue their journey to Kermanshah.

Footage from the aircraft showed sections of the cabin ceiling hanging loose and damaged overhead compartments after the emergency return.
