Due to security concerns, the Punjab government has enacted Section 144 across the province for seven days.

The Home Department advocated for electoral integrity in response to the PTI’s call for a nationwide protest at 2 pm today.

The directive stipulates that Section 144 will be effective from June 21 to 27.

According to the order, there will be prohibitions on all forms of gatherings, including sit-ins, rallies, processions, protests, meetings, and other related activities in Punjab during this period.

The Home Department cited the current public order and security concerns as reasons for the measure, noting that public gatherings could potentially become targets for terrorist and criminal activities, posing significant risks to law and order.
