During a two-day visit to Islamabad, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud committed to enhancing economic collaboration with Pakistan.
In a joint press conference with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Prince Faisal highlighted ongoing discussions to boost investment opportunities in Pakistan. The visit follows a prior meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
“The direction of the Saudi crown prince initiated this high-level delegation’s visit,” Prince Faisal stated, expressing gratitude for Pakistani hospitality.
The Saudi Foreign Minister underscored potential sectors for increased Saudi investment in the coming months, emphasizing regional economic development and security.
In response, Minister Dar welcomed the delegation, noting the significance of this visit in his career. He detailed discussions focused on elevating the bilateral relationship to a strategic partnership and improving investment climates.
Dar outlined the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in expediting foreign investment, expressing optimism about Pakistan becoming an investment and innovation hub. He reassured full support for Saudi investments under Prime Minister Sharif’s directives.
Further, the ministers addressed the situation in Gaza, expressing deep concern over the ongoing conflict and the international community’s inaction. They called for an immediate ceasefire, the opening of humanitarian corridors, and a global investigation into the human rights abuses occurring there.
Prince Faisal reiterated the tragic conditions in Gaza, stressing the urgency of international humanitarian intervention and the need for immediate action to halt the suffering and fatalities.
