A man convicted of honour killing was executed in Sargodha in the city district jail.
Ghazanfar Abbas of Shahpur district had murdered his sister, Parveen, and brother-in-law Fateh Khan in 1999 and injured Nasreen, Razia Bibi, Farhat and Muhammad Zeeshan as he did not approve of his sister’s marriage.
He later surrendered to police.
He was sentenced to death, which was maintained by the appellate court. His mercy petitions were also rejected thrice by the president.
He had been shifted to Sargodha jail from Jhang and hanged yesterday morning.
This is the first honour killing execution in Sargodha.
