Actor Sarah Pidgeon earned her first Emmy nomination for FX’s “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.” The series leads several newcomer programs competing at the 78th Emmy Awards.
The Television Academy says the 2026 FX/Hulu limited series received six nominations. They include Outstanding Limited Series and Lead Actress for Pidgeon. 20th Television produced the show.
In an ABC7 “On The Red Carpet” interview published August 14, Pidgeon said she felt fortunate to join the production. “I would do it all over again,” she said.
Meanwhile, actor Chase Infiniti received her first Emmy nomination for Hulu’s “The Testaments.” The Television Academy nominated Infiniti for outstanding lead actress in a drama series.

MGM Television produced the 2026 continuation of “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Infiniti said she felt responsible for expanding the established Gilead story.
Actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II also entered the field through Marvel Television’s “Wonder Man.” The Disney+ series earned him an outstanding lead actor nomination in the comedy category.
ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” collected seven nominations. They include comedy series and acting nods for creator Quinta Brunson, actor Tyler James Williams and actor Janelle James.

Across the full field, “The Pitt” leads with 25 nominations. “Hacks” earned 24, setting a single-year record for a comedy series, according to the Television Academy.
Actor Mariska Hargitay will host the ceremony September 14 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. NBC and Peacock will carry it at 8 p.m. ET.
