ISLAMABAD: Salaried class tax payments reached Rs633 billion in fiscal year 2025-26, exceeding the combined income tax contribution of exporters, real estate transactions and retailers, FBR provisional data showed.
The Federal Board of Revenue collected Rs13,010 billion in total taxes during the year ended June 30, 2026.
The salaried class paid Rs585 billion in FY2024-25, up from Rs537 billion in the previous year. Exporters paid Rs174 billion in income tax in FY2025-26, compared with Rs176 billion a year earlier.
The real estate sector contributed Rs191 billion under Section 236-C on property sellers.
Property buyers paid Rs87 billion under Section 236-K, against Rs120 billion in FY2024-25. Retailers contributed about Rs 70 billion through withholding taxes under Sections 236-G and 236-H.

The FBR collected Rs25 billion from retailers under Section 236-G and Rs45 billion under Section 236-H in FY2025-26.
The federal government has set the FBR tax collection target at Rs15,264 billion for the current fiscal year.
The tax relief has been provided to salaried taxpayers, exporters and real estate transactions in the new fiscal year.
