Bahawalpur: Muhammad Moavia, an activist of militants’ group allegedly involved in Safoora Chowrangi (Karachi) bus massacre, was shifted to Karachi from Bahawalpur, it is learnt.
The intelligence agencies had claimed during previous days that Moavia, a mastermind behind the Safoora killing case, had escaped to Bahawalpur from Karachi along with other terrorists. He went underground because police and other law-enforcement agencies remained unaware of his arrival in Bahawalpur.
Police officials, including Bahawalpur RPO Ehsan Sadiq and DPO Sarfraz Ahmed Falki, also denied Moavia’s presence. However, some intelligence reports claimed Moavia had been recovered from a hideout in this area.
Some intelligence circles have claimed that the Safoora mastermind was shifted to Karachi. Local police circles were tight-lipped over the Moavia case.
