A rocket attack partially damaged the residence of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Mubarak Zeb Khan in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No casualties were reported, and authorities have launched an investigation, as confirmed by Dawn. Details of the Rocket Attack
The rocket, fired in the early hours, struck a neighbour’s house, damaging walls and gates of both properties, according to Bajaur District Police Officer Waqas Rafique. This marks the second attack on Khan’s home in two months, following an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in May 2025. Khan, absent during the incident, confirmed no injuries via a post on X, where users expressed alarm over rising violence in Bajaur. A search operation is underway to apprehend the attackers.

APP reported that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep concern, stating, “Such acts of violence are unacceptable and aimed at destabilising peace in the region.” He thanked Allah for no loss of life and ordered a thorough investigation, demanding swift arrests. Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring safety for public representatives and citizens, per a statement from his office.
Bajaur has experienced a rise in militant attacks, recording 74 nationwide incidents in January 2025, according to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies. Khan’s residence was previously attacked with an improvised explosive device (IED) on May 13, 2025, which damaged the main gate but resulted in no injuries. The region’s proximity to Afghanistan, where recent mortar shelling resulted in one death, raises significant security concerns..
