Newly released legal documents describe a dramatic confrontation between Ryan Reynolds and Justin Baldoni at Reynolds’ New York residence. The incident occurred with Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman unexpectedly present during the exchange.
According to court filings obtained by People magazine, Baldoni visited the Manhattan apartment shared by Reynolds and Blake Lively on April 25, 2023. The meeting quickly escalated when Reynolds confronted Baldoni about what he perceived as inappropriate comments regarding Lively’s body.
The documents state Reynolds “unloaded” on Baldoni, calling it “horrible” to ask any woman about her weight. Both Reynolds and Lively allegedly accused Baldoni of “fat shaming” during the emotional exchange.

Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were unexpectedly present during the confrontation, according to timeline documents emailed by Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamey Heath’s team. These records later became part of the official court file.
TMZ previously reported that Swift arrived at Lively’s apartment at her scheduled time, unaware Baldoni would still be present. Sources indicate Swift believed the timing was arranged to place her in the room before Baldoni’s departure.
The incident emerged in Baldoni’s since-dismissed $400 million countersuit, which suggested Lively leveraged her celebrity friendships. Legal filings referenced text messages where Lively allegedly referred to Reynolds and Swift as her “dragons.”

According to Page Six sources, Swift and Lively “have had no contact” since the situation escalated last year. One insider stated Swift felt “blindsided” and “used” by her proximity to the conflict, despite valuing her long-term friendship with Lively.
The legal dispute continues between Lively and Baldoni, though the countersuit containing these allegations has been dismissed.
