LAHORE, Punjab: A sessions court scheduled the Rajab Butt indictment for Aug. 18 on Tuesday. The case involves alleged sexual assault and blackmail by five suspects.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafaryab ordered Butt and the four other suspects to attend the next hearing.
A social media influencer filed the private complaint in 2025. She accused the suspects of sexual assault and later blackmail, according to the complaint.
The complainant told the court that she had submitted WhatsApp messages and a medical report. She also cited her Section 164 statement under the Code of Criminal Procedure. The court has not ruled on guilt. The Aug. 18 hearing concerns only the formal framing of charges.

A sessions court previously granted the five suspects pre-arrest bail. Butt and the other suspects have denied the allegations.
The Rajab Butt indictment hearing requires all five suspects to appear in court. Judge Zafaryab fixed the date after hearing the private complaint.
Nawab Town Police registered a separate case in Lahore in July. The same woman accused Butt and others of attacking several women and opening fire during a café dispute.

Police recorded those claims as allegations in a first information report. That case remains separate from the complaint before the sessions court.
