A meeting between the PML-N leader Khwaja Saad Rafique and Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri took place in a container in Islamabad at the “Inqalabi March” march venue on Sunday noon.
Railway minister Rafique, who holds the portfolio of Railways Ministry, secretly arrived at the venue to meet Dr. Qadri in a container he is currently abiding. Farooq reported that the meeting was not scheduled. The minister came to the sit-in venue in an unplanned visit to meet the PAT chief.
Central PAT leaders were also present during a meeting. The minister brought a message from the prime minister to the protesting cleric.
Sources told that Rafique conveyed to Dr. Qadri that culprits of Model Town incident will be brought to book. He said government wanted dialogue to end this crisis.
It may be noted that PAT had earlier refused to talk to Khwaja Saad Rafique as he was nominated by the party in an FIR against 21 persons involved in Model Town carnage that claimed over two dozen lives on June 16.
