LONDON: British police announced on Saturday that they had released a British-Iranian man on bail in the RAF Fairford investigation. All six suspects detained in connection with the case have now been granted bail.
Officers arrested the 25-year-old in London on Thursday on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts. Investigators are examining events near Royal Air Force (RAF) Fairford in Gloucestershire, England.
However, police found petrol rather than explosives in three vans linked to the initial suspects. Armed officers and army bomb-disposal specialists responded early on September 27.
While authorities evacuated scores of nearby residents. Britain’s government has pointed to indications of Iranian involvement, but Tehran denies any role.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected the accusation on X, arguing that the initial suspects’ release undermined it. Iran also summoned Britain’s ambassador in Tehran on Thursday to protest the allegations.
Meanwhile, the five men arrested near the base are British nationals in their 20s from London. Police detained them on suspicion of explosives offences and preparing terrorist acts before releasing them on bail.

US bombers have used Fairford for strikes against Iran during this year’s conflict. US President Donald Trump criticised the earlier bail decisions.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also expressed concern about the release of the initial suspects. Police announced the release on bail of the sixth suspect detained in connection with the security incident near RAF Fairford.
