The Punjab government is set to introduce five new hybrid double-decker buses on fresh routes in Lahore to boost tourism.
An additional bus will be launched in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi. Double-decker services are also planned for Multan and Faisalabad to promote tourism further.
At the launch event, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inspected the hybrid double-decker bus and took it for a brief ride. Officials then gave her an overview of the service.
Lahore’s new tourist bus route will run from Qaddafi Stadium to several popular destinations.
Additionally, the Punjab government recently launched a glass train project connecting Rawalpindi to Bhurban in the Murree region.
A task force of 18 departments has been formed to manage this project, led by the Punjab Transport Minister and the deputy commissioners of Rawalpindi and Murree.
The scenic 65-kilometre rail journey will start from Saddar in Rawalpindi, pass through areas like the Margalla Hills and Barakahu, and end in Bhurban.
