The Punjab government expanded its “Free WiFi” initiative to Nankana Sahib after successfully deploying it in Lahore and Kasur.
In a statement today, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted the program’s success, noting that over five million citizens in Lahore have already utilized the free internet service. She further announced that Safe Cities projects will soon launch in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, with plans to extend these services to eighteen cities across Punjab.
Following Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directives, Lahore’s free Wi-Fi service coverage doubled from 100 to 200 points.

The service is available in various areas, including Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chuhng, Shahpur Kanjran, Sundar, Valencia, and Maraka.
This initiative is part of the broader “Digital Punjab” vision, providing free emergency WiFi to assist citizens in contacting police and family during emergencies and accessing vital apps like the Women Safety App, Punjab Police App, and WhatsApp.
It is important to note that this service does not support access to Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or other entertainment apps. The range of each free Wi-Fi device in Lahore extends up to 300 feet from the installation point.
