The Punjab government unveiled its bold E-Taxi Scheme 2025. This exciting plan offers electric taxis on interest-free instalments. It creates jobs for young and unemployed people while fighting air pollution. The first phase will deliver 1,100 taxis, transforming city transport and giving drivers a steady income.

This scheme stands out with its no-interest payment plan. Drivers can own electric taxis affordably. Each taxi has GPS, smart meters, and official branding for safe, reliable rides. The program starts in cities like Lahore, boosting the taxi industry and green travel.

The scheme includes eco-friendly cars like Honri Ve 2.0 and Dongfeng Box. These modern taxis are built for city use, with features that ensure safety and comfort. They help cut pollution while offering drivers a sustainable career.

Anyone in Punjab over 18 with a valid driving license and a clean bank record can apply. It’s a great chance for young people to start a new job in clean transport.

How to Apply For The Punjab E-Taxi Scheme

The application portal opens in September 2025. Submit your forms and documents by October 2025. In November, a fair balloting process will pick winners. Selected drivers will get their taxis starting in December 2025, launching the scheme’s first phase.

Easy Payment Plan

Each taxi costs Rs6-6.5 million. Pay 30% upfront (Rs1.8-2 million), and the bank covers the rest (Rs4.5 million). Monthly payments are around Rs60,000, making ownership easy for many.
