ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed a six-member delegation at the President’s House on Thursday to meet with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The team includes representatives from the federal government and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Their discussions with PTI leaders will cover the current political situation.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Rana Sanaullah and Ameer Muqam represent the federal government. Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar and Ejaz Jakhrani comprise the PPP contingent.
PTI has accepted the government’s invitation to meet.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the government sent him an invitation through a message on Wednesday. He linked the party’s acceptance to decisions at an opposition meeting.

During their meeting, Zardari and Sharif reviewed political and security conditions across the country. Participants expressed concern about the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the statement issued after their discussions.
They agreed to strengthen the country’s resolve against terrorism. Participants called for relevant institutions to coordinate effectively to ensure peace and stability.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar attended the meeting at the President’s House.
Other attendees included Saleem Mandviwalla, Sharjeel Memon and Nasir Hussain Shah, alongside members of the joint delegation.
Government and opposition representatives will meet on Friday at 12:00 pm PKT in the office of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq
