Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally rejected the statements made by Sher Afzal Marwat concerning Saudi Arabia’s involvement in a regime change operation during a private TV program.

The party issued a detailed statement: “On behalf of PTI’s central leadership, we categorically disassociate ourselves from the statements made by Sher Afzal Marwat regarding Saudi Arabia’s role in any regime change operation. These views are his personal opinions and do not reflect PTI’s official stance or strategies.”

The party emphasized the importance of the bilateral relationship with Saudi Arabia, stating, “Saudi Arabia is one of Pakistan’s most valued Islamic allies, held in high esteem by PTI’s founder chairman Imran Khan, its leadership, and its supporters.”

The statement made by me in @GFarooqi live show was based on my personal views. I never claimed in my interview that this stance had any official backing of the PTI. https://t.co/FdxmVKUMJZ

The statement highlighted the deep-rooted ties and mutual respect between Imran Khan, Saudi Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, His Excellency Mohammed bin Salman. It described their relationship as marked by mutual respect and brotherly bonds, which are deeply valued by PTI’s leadership.

I think Marwat sb is possibly mistaken as he was not a member of parliament at the time of regime change or part of PTI. Imran khan sb and the PTI value the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They have always stood by us through thick and thin and continue to do so. I hope we can pique… https://t.co/StnWB0HQWn

PTI reiterated its commitment to strengthening the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which have historically benefitted both nations across various dimensions.

The statement concluded, “PTI continues to be dedicated to fostering close cooperation and brotherhood with Saudi Arabia, aiming to play a significant role in promoting the welfare and progress of both nations and their people.”
