All  four provincial governments, including Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), FATA have requested the federal government to suspend the mobile phone services on 9th and 10th of Muharram owing to the ongoing security situation.

Cellular services will remain suspended on Tuesday and Wednesday in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad and many other cities from early morning to late night.

As far as other security measures are concerned, the city’s M.A.Jinnah road has also been closed for traffic as containers have been placed to block the road. The road will be opened on 11th Muharram for traffic.

The government has already banned pillion riding in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Rawalpindi.
