Ongoing Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen protests at 12 key locations in Karachi are causing severe traffic congestion, leaving commuters frustrated. Demonstrations for Parachinar have disrupted access to major routes and critical areas across the city.

  • Natha Khan: Protesters have blocked access to Karachi airport, significantly affecting travellers.
  • Kamran Chowrangi, Malir 15, Abul Hasan Isphahani Road: Severe disruptions to traffic flow.
  • University Road (near Samama) and Numaish Chowrangi: Major gridlocks reported.
  • Shahrah-e-Pakistan (Ancholi) and Surjani Town routes: Worsening traffic conditions.
  • Steel Town Mor and Korangi 2.5 Number: Heavy congestion reported.
  • Shahrah-e-Faisal (near Natha Khan Bridge): Severely blocked, complicating airport access.

Law enforcement is negotiating with demonstrators to open one lane for airport-bound traffic. However, protesters remain firm, prolonging the inconvenience for commuters.

Karachi Traffic Diversion Plan

The Karachi Traffic Police has issued an advisory to help commuters navigate the affected areas:

  • M.A. Jinnah Road: Traffic diverted to Soldier Bazaar.
  • Abbas Town: Routes redirected from Paradise Bakery to Fariya Chowk.
  • University Road: Traffic rerouted to inner city areas.
  • Shahrah-e-Faisal: Travelers advised to use Pehlwan Goth route to the airport.
  • Malir and Korangi: Use Shah Faisal Colony Bridge for airport access.
  • National Highway to Malir 15: Routes redirected through Malir Halt to Model Colony.
  • Surjani Town: Service road from KDA Flats available.
  • Water Pump to Cardio Hospital and Gulberg Chowrangi: Alternative routes suggested.
  • Kamran Chowrangi: Access via Mosmiat to University Road.
  • Nazimabad: Use Lisbela and Teen Hatti routes.
  • National Highway and Township: Route through Port Qasim suggested.

Commuters are urged to follow these alternate routes to minimize delays. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to alleviate traffic disruptions.
