Prime Minister sacks Pervaiz Rashid

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Saturday removed Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid from his ministry.

Pervaiz Rashid has been removed from his ministry after controversial story of Dawn New which claimed that there was a rift between civilian and military leadership regarding operations against some specific militant group

According to sources, Prime has also formed a committee consist of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) high rank officials.

In a press statement, Pakistan army dismissed the story as “unfounded” and called for a probe into the security meeting’s leak.

Prime Minister Office and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif also rejected the report headlined “Act against militants or face international isolation, civilians tell military” published in Dawn on Thursday, Oct 6.
