Press TV has alleged that Israeli and Emirati leaders staged the flydubai flight incident to strengthen Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel politically and provoke confrontation with Iran.
Its accusation also names President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, the broadcaster presented no documents or named witnesses substantiating an arrangement between the two leaders.
A Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after a confrontation between its pilots.
Investigators are still examining the circumstances and motive. Netanyahu has claimed the co-pilot underwent radical indoctrination and suggested a possible Iranian connection, turning an unexplained aviation incident into a potential pretext for a new war with Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran affairs researcher Dani Citrinowicz warned against linking the incident to Tehran. He described such speculation as “playing with fire”.
Citrinowicz argued that Iran could act pre-emptively if it believed Israel was preparing an attack. Israel might then interpret that action as confirmation of its suspicions, creating a cycle of escalation.

Flydubai has urged against premature speculation while investigators establish the facts. The airline has suspended flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv during the investigation
