Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, officially left the party today. He had already stepped down from his role, forwarding his resignation to the party’s chairman.

Mansoor had participated in the recent elections, running for a seat in NA-250. His departure from the PPP in November 2023 came after he left the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) to join PPP.

Additionally, the PPP Lahore President, Aslam Gill, resigned following Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s loss in NA-127 to a Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) candidate, Atta Tarrar. This resignation was reportedly prompted by demands from the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), which called for an investigation into the chairman’s electoral defeat. There were reports of Bilawal Bhutto’s frustration with the minimal votes garnered in NA-127.
