The Pakistan Peoples Party has summoned a PPP AJK meeting in Islamabad this evening to discuss Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s current political and administrative situation, party sources said. In fact, the significance of a PPP AJK Meeting has increased due to ongoing developments in the region.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will chair the parliamentary party session. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Faryal Talpur and Qamar Zaman Kaira are also likely to attend this PPP AJK meeting as well.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore and PPP members of the Legislative Assembly will attend the meeting, underlining the importance of the PPP AJK meeting for taking key decisions.
Party sources said the session will review the overall situation in Azad Kashmir, the region’s upcoming budget and election-related matters.

The meeting comes after the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Home Department declared the Joint Awami Action Committee a banned organisation under the region’s anti-terrorism law, ARY News reported.
According to the Home Department notification, organisations operating as the “Jammu Kashmir Action Committee” and the “Joint Awami Action Committee” have been placed in the First Schedule of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Terrorism Act 2014.
The notification said the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir approved the decision, formally declaring the group a proscribed organisation.
