The PML-N is nearing a majority in federal and Punjab legislatures, enhancing its influence. With support from independents and allies like the PPP, PML-Q, and MQM, it’s set to form governments.

These alliances give the PML-N a strong position with 159 seats in the National Assembly. The party itself holds 82 seats, with allies contributing the rest. The coalition aims for a majority by securing additional reserved seats for women and minorities, potentially reaching 202 members.

In Punjab, independents joining the PML-N boosted its seats to 151, aiding in government formation. The party anticipates gaining 33 of the 66 reserved seats for women in the Punjab Assembly, increasing its presence. With allies, the coalition in Punjab could expand to 214 members. Recently, Maryam Nawaz was nominated for Punjab CM, a decision supported by key party leaders.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif has proven her mettle. She faced worst yet held on, braved injustice with courage unheard of in Pakistan.
