Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu’s tenure by one year. This decision followed the prime minister’s recommendation and President Asif Ali Zardari’s subsequent approval, although an official announcement was not made.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar, a four-star officer, is the 16th Chief of Air Staff. He succeeded ACM Mujahid Anwar Khan on March 19, 2021. Last Monday, ACM Sidhu met with Prime Minister Sharif, offering congratulations on his new role, as stated in a press release from the PM Office. Their conversation covered the Pakistan Air Force’s operational matters.
