Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed profound sorrow over Saturday’s fatalities resulting from the Kallar Kahar bus mishap.
In a tweet on Sunday morning, he also voiced concerns about the rising incidents of accidents in the Salt Range.
Prime Minister Sharif has instructed motorway authorities to ensure all vehicles on the highway are roadworthy and that drivers meet all necessary driving standards. He emphasized that compliance with rules and regulations is the only way to ensure safe travel. Additionally, he extended his condolences to the families affected by the accident and offered his prayers for them.
The unfortunate incident resulted in at least 14 deaths, including women and children. In contrast, several others sustained injuries when a passenger bus heading towards Islamabad overturned near Kallar Kahar on the motorway.

Details reveal that the tragic accident happened around 3:30 pm when the passenger bus collided with a divider on the motorway near Kallar Kahar. The bus driver reportedly lost control due to brake failure, causing the bus to hit the divider and overturn.
The Motorway Police reported that a relief operation was launched following the accident, and the deceased and injured passengers are being transported to a nearby hospital.
