Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif earlier today directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to suspend roaming services on Afghan Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) in Pakistan.
According to PM House spokesperson, the directives were issued on the request of law enforcement agencies.
The law enforcement agencies had informed the government that Afghan SIMs were being openly used by the terrorists and other criminal elements.
