Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif earlier today formally inaugurated the new terminal of the Multan International Airport in Punjab.
The project was completed in five years at a cost of Rs.9 billion.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority officials, the project was initiated to expand the existing airport enabling large aircrafts to land and take off for both international and domestic flights from Multan.
A special cargo complex has also been built at the terminal of international standards to host international cargo flights from Multan, instrumental to boost exports of perishable goods such as fruits, particularly mango, and vegetables.
