Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi appointed Ali Jahangir Siddiqui as his special assistant on Wednesday.
Ali Jahangir Siddiqui, who is currently the chairman of JS Bank Ltd and the son of business tycon Jahangir Siddiqui, the founder of JS Group of companies.
The special assistant will have the same status as a state minister.
