PM announces more uplift projects in Gwadar

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that the era of development has started in Gwadar which will change the fate of the people of the region.

Addressing a public rally in Gwadar on Thursday, he said no other party had ever started development of the area during their tenure.

He said with the dedicated efforts of the present government the Balochistan has been put to the road of progress and development.

Referring developments in the area, he said the 1100 kilometer road network including Gwadar-Turbat, Baseema, Punjgor, Khuzdar is being constructed in Balochistan which will generate economic development.

He said construction of colleges, universities and setting up industries will help elevate poverty. He said the CPEC is a game changer for the entire nation.

The Prime Minister said that construction of road from Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw to Gilgit is in progress. He said besides other developmental activities, a power plant is being setting up in Gwadar which will generate 300 MW electricity for the people of Gwadar and its surrounding areas.

Nawaz Sharif said that the menace of terrorism is being eradicated and we are committed to completely wipe out terrorists from Pakistan.

The Prime Minister has announced one billion rupees each for establishment of Gwadar University and construction of streets and sewage system.

He said a state of the art 300 bed hospital will be constructed in Gwadar and health card will be provided to the poor people of the area. He said a project of provision of five hundred thousand gallon clean water will be set up at a cost of five billion rupees.

The Prime Minister said that fifty students of Gwadar will be sent to China for learning Chinese language besides giving admission to fifty students at best universities in the country.

Earlier, in his address on the occasion, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri said the people of Balochistan will never let any anti CPEC propaganda to succeed.

He said peace has been restored in Balochistan and the people of Balochistan have rendered countless sacrifices for peace in the province.

The Chief Minister said the people are ready to render every sacrifice for foiling any nefarious designs against development.

He said CPEC is a ray of hope for all areas of the country including Gwadar.

He said the people and Government of Pakistan stand united with the Federal Government towards the culmination of CPEC.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch said the undaunted efforts of the Government have turned the dream of a functional Gwadar Port into reality.

He said there is a need to provide basic facilities of life top the people of Gwadar. (PhotoNews / APP)
