Hyderabad, Sindh: The Sindh government will distribute pink electric scooties in Hyderabad on May 22 under the latest phase of its Pink Scooty Scheme, the Sindh Information Department said.
Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the initiative aims to support female students and working women by improving access to safe and independent travel.
The provincial government said the scheme offers women safer, more affordable and environmentally friendly transport options. Beneficiaries also receive driving training, helmets and road safety guidance as part of the programme.
Officials said the project is being expanded gradually across Sindh as part of wider transport modernisation plans. The broader programme also includes electric buses and the expansion of the People’s Bus Service network.
The Sindh government also warned citizens against fake social media messages about the Pink Scooty Scheme. A spokesperson said claims asking people to register and make payments were false and misleading.
