ISLAMABAD: The PIMS nursery fire killed 14 newborn babies while one infant was rescued alive, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences administration said after releasing details of the affected families.
The hospital said the fire broke out Wednesday morning in the gynaecology ward nursery at PIMS, Islamabad’s major public-sector hospital.
According to the list issued by PIMS, the deceased newborns were identified by their parents’ names. The supplied document, however, lists 13 deceased babies despite stating that 14 infants died.
