Lahore: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) president Akhtar Rosool has resigned from his post.
Rasool who is a former Pakistan hockey team captain took over as the PHF president from Qasim Zai in 2013.
During his tenure the hockey team failed to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics which led to severe criticism of the PHF. The government had also taken notice of this failure.
Brigadier (retd) Khalid Sajjad Khokar will assume the post of PHF president.
