A petrol price cut of Rs8 per litre is likely in Pakistan this week, while high-speed diesel may fall by up to Rs30 per litre, sources said.
Officials said the federal government will finalise the new weekly fuel prices today after a continued decline in global oil prices. The petrol rate is expected to fall for the third consecutive week.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will take the final decision on the revised rates. The Petroleum Division will issue the formal notification after approval.

The expected reduction may bring petrol down from Rs403.78 per litre to Rs395.78 per litre. High-speed diesel may drop from Rs402.78 per litre to Rs372.78 per litre.
Authorities are considering passing on the full impact of lower international fuel prices to consumers.
The revised petrol and diesel rates will remain effective for one week after the official notification is issued.
