PETA Urges Kardashians to Donate Fur and Exotic Skins to Those in Need

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has called on the Kardashians to donate their fur and exotic animal-skin items to needy people.

Despite their previous stance against fur, the reality TV family sells numerous such products on their online store, Kardashian Kloset. PETA hopes to use high-end clothing and accessories made from rare skins for educational purposes and to provide them to homeless individuals, refugees, and others in desperate situations.

Kim Kardashian, who no longer wears real fur or exotic skins, has 13 items for sale, including mink fur coats, python-skin skirts, and crocodile handbags worth thousands of dollars. According to PETA, she is the worst offender. After being encouraged by PETA supporter Pamela Anderson, Kim renounced fur in 2019 and stated she would only wear “vegan fur” from then on.

PETA’s senior vice president, Lisa Lange, said, “While nothing can undo the suffering of foxes, minks, snakes, and alligators killed for a jacket or pair of shoes, the Kardashians can still do good with these items.” The organization has asked the Kardashians to donate their rare-skin clothing and accessories to help those in need.

Although the Kardashians have not broken any laws by selling their vintage items, California has recently banned selling and manufacturing new animal fur products to end the fur trade. However, the state allows exceptions for alligator and crocodile-based fashion accessories.

Major fashion labels like Prada, Gucci, Chanel, and Versace have stopped using fur and exotic skins. In 2018, Donatella Versace stated, “I don’t want to kill animals for fashion. It doesn’t feel right.”

While Khloe and Kourtney do not sell fur or exotic animal-skin products, other Kardashian family members continue doing so.

Kylie Jenner has faced criticism from animal rights activists for wearing fur and snakeskin items, and she has sold an alligator clutch purse for $16,999 and a beige alligator handbag for $65,000.
